bookpulse

real-time price and rarity tracking for 100+ books, fed by an hourly aws pipeline.

what it is

tracks prices for 100+ books and scores each one on rarity and demand across 5 categories. the dashboard shows price charts, the biggest movers, and a rarity leaderboard.

why i built it

i built this while applying for a role on amazon books, so i went all in on the aws stack they were hiring for.

how it works

every hour, eventbridge triggers a lambda that pulls fresh book data, saves the raw data to s3, and computes price changes, demand, and rarity. results land in postgres on rds. a fastapi backend in docker serves them to a react + typescript frontend on vercel.

stack

react, typescript, fastapi, postgresql, docker, aws lambda, s3, rds, eventbridge
